DiolazeXL FAQ
Most clients see best results after four to six sessions, spaced about four to six weeks apart to align with your hair growth cycle. Your provider will recommend a plan based on your hair and goals at consultation.
DiolazeXL’s handpiece includes a large built-in cooling surface, and most clients describe the treatment as virtually painless, often compared to a warm tapping sensation. Your provider adjusts energy and pacing throughout your session based on your comfort.
Yes. DiolazeXL uses both a Light and a Dark handpiece, tuned to different wavelengths, so your provider can choose the setting best suited to your specific skin tone. Every Vessel client gets a full assessment at consultation to confirm the right approach for you.
No. DiolazeXL uses a diode laser, a form of non-ionizing light energy that heats the hair follicle without altering DNA the way ionizing radiation, such as X-rays, can. Diode lasers used for hair removal are FDA-cleared, and there is no established link between laser hair removal and cancer risk.
DiolazeXL is FDA-cleared for permanent hair reduction, meaning a long-term, significant decrease in hair regrowth after a full course of treatment. Some clients choose occasional maintenance sessions to keep results looking their best.
Both offer long-term hair reduction, but they work differently. DiolazeXL’s laser targets pigment in the hair follicle, so it can treat larger areas quickly and comfortably, which works well for darker, coarser hair. Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time with a fine probe, which takes longer per session but can treat hair colors and textures a laser can’t target as effectively, including very light, gray, or white hair. Your provider can help you decide which approach fits your hair and goals.
DiolazeXL has little to no downtime. You may notice mild redness or slight puffiness around the hair follicles, usually fading within a few hours. Most clients return to normal activities right away.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanner) for at least two weeks before and after your DiolazeXL session, and avoid plucking or waxing between sessions since the laser targets the hair follicle directly. Your provider will go over any other specific guidance for your skin at consultation. See the DiolazeXL Pre & Post Care guide.
Yes, shaving the treatment area the day before or morning of your appointment is recommended. Avoid plucking, waxing, or threading, since those remove the hair follicle the laser needs to target.
Laser hair removal is commonly used to manage excess hair growth linked to hormonal conditions such as PCOS, and DiolazeXL can be an effective part of that routine. Because hormonally driven hair growth can be more persistent, you may need more sessions or periodic maintenance to keep results looking their best. Your provider will build a plan around your specific hair and goals at consultation.
Pricing depends on the treatment area and plan built for you at consultation, and can vary with current promotional offers. Vessel also offers payment plans. See current DiolazeXL pricing, or reach out for exact, up-to-date pricing.
